June’s Fisher of Solitudes is a mix of free-verse, formal poetry and newly discovered forms, like the dorsimbra and the minute, have their place in these pages. This chapbook is grounded in the power of place and bears the influence of the Deep Image poets. The poetry is strongly drawn from a history of the local and a sensitivity to the writing life. here there are dreams, honor to the elders, scars as well as the acknowledgement of mentors. Honesty and humor also have place along with the deeply personal, the mythological, the urban legend, the wonder of nature, the soul and its relation to everything.
